Local kid breaks kidnapping case

Dunno if you’ve heard, but I caught a news story from Missouri a few days ago about a couple of kids who had just been rescued from their kidnapper – one missing for a couple of days (the one the cops were actively searching for), and another that had been missing since 2002.

A related story came around in my RSS news feed today with some behind-the-scenes info about the break in the case that finally allowed the cops to find the missing kids. Apparently it was due to a friend of the latest victim, who had seen a suspicious white truck leaving right after the victim went missing. Being a “truck fanatic,” as well as very observant, he was able to give the police such a detailed description that they suspected he was making it up. The last two paragraphs of that article really amused me.
